What is Copper Nickel Forgings?

The most common CuNi forgings contain 90% copper and 10% nickel (90/10) or 70% copper and 30% nickel (70/30). The excellent corrosion resistance makes them very good for applications involving exposure to the marine environment. Mechanical properties comprise high tensile strength: 550 MPa for 90/10, and 650 MPa for 70/30, and good ductility and stress corrosion cracking resistance. The 70/30 alloy offers greater strength and erosion resistance than the 90/10 alloy. In terms of good thermal and electrical conductivity, CuNi alloys are also welded well and, therefore, can be used in harsh environments, such as seawater and chemical industries.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Compatible welding processes for copper-nickel forgings include TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and Stick welding. These methods ensure strong, durable joints while preserving the material's properties.

Copper-nickel forgings are commonly used in marine, aerospace, chemical processing, power generation, oil and gas, desalination, and plumbing industries due to their corrosion resistance, strength, and durability in harsh environments.

Factors ensuring the durability of copper-nickel forgings include proper alloy composition, effective heat treatment, corrosion resistance, precise forging processes, and protective coatings, all contributing to strength, reliability, and long-term performance.

Copper Nickel Forgings Uses

Copper-nickel forging is widely used in various industries due to its corrosion resistance, strength and durability. In the marine industry, it is used for marine pipelines, heat exchangers and fittings due to their ability to withstand harsh marine environments. In aerospace, copper-nickel components are used in high-performance applications such as jet fuel systems. The chemical manufacturing and oil and gas industries rely on copper-nickel mesh for valves, pumps and heat exchangers, because the material resists corrosion from harsh chemicals and high pressure Furthermore, it is made of copper -nickel alloys are used in desalination plants, plumbing. and in the programs It for reliability long-term.
